LAHORE, Nov 5 (Gwadar Pro) – Punjab Minister for Communication and Works Malik Sohaib Ahmad Bharth on Tuesday inspected the Faisalabad–Chiniot dual road project, a key provincial infrastructure initiative aimed at improving regional connectivity under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.

Accompanied by Chiniot Deputy Commissioner Sufiyullah Gondal and senior officials, Bharth reviewed progress on the 24-kilometre section from Kamalpur Interchange to Tehsil Chowk Chiniot. Officials reported that 19 kilometres of earthwork, sub-base, and base course have been completed, with asphalt laid on 12 kilometres.

Bharth directed the officials to complete the Faisalabad Bypass–Chiniot Bypass section by December 2025 and ensure adherence to construction quality standards. He said improved road infrastructure would boost industrial exports and logistics associated with CPEC projects, including the Allama Iqbal Industrial City Special Economic Zone.

The minister also reviewed progress on land acquisition for the Chiniot–Sargodha Road, which is expected to strengthen connectivity to CPEC’s western route.
