CPEC-Linked Hazara Motorway Restoration Fast-Tracked Under PHC Orders
ABBOTTABAD, Oct.14 (Gwadar Pro)-Restoration of the Hazara Motorway, a key route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), has been accelerated following directives from the Peshawar High Court (PHC).
A meeting chaired by Commissioner Hazara Division Fayaz Ali Shah reviewed the progress of repair work, with officials from the National Highway Authority (NHA) and the CPEC Burhan section in attendance. NHA reported that rehabilitation is underway at five key points—three already completed and two nearing completions.
Commissioner Fayaz stressed maintaining international quality standards and ensuring road safety, directing close coordination with Motorway Police to curb overloading. He noted that depressions and bumps in several sections continued to affect traffic flow and required urgent repair.
He said the Hazara Motorway is vital for regional connectivity and serves as a lifeline for trade and travel under the CPEC framework. Officials pledged to complete the project on schedule, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to sustaining high-quality CPEC infrastructure.
