Pakistani textile firms participate in Shanghai textile expo
SHANGHAI, Mar 13 (Gwadar Pro) – From March 11 to 13, a group of Pakistani textile companies participated in two prominent textile exhibitions in Shanghai: the Yarn Expo Spring 2025 and Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics-Spring Edition 2025. These companies displayed their products and explored trends in functional fabrics to boost Pakistan’s role in the global textile market.

Among the participants was Kohinoor Mills, a leading Pakistani textile company that displayed a range of fabrics, including cotton-tencel, cotton-stretch, and cotton-poly stretch. “This platform is invaluable for meeting both new and existing clients. Every year, I gather global trends here, especially insights into the preferences of Chinese customers,” the company’s marketing manager Nadeem Waqar said. He also confirmed the plan to return for the autumn edition later this year.
Mahmood Group of Industries, a Pakistani exhibitor with interests in cotton, yarn, fabrics, leather, poultry and fast food, highlighted its strong collaboration with China. “Pakistan’s textile industry is known for its high-quality products, cost-effectiveness, and ability to meet global standards. Our long-standing partnerships with China have been instrumental in driving growth and innovation,” the firm’s marketing manager Muhammad Akmal said.

Azgard Nine Ltd presented its latest denim collection, earning attention from international buyers, particularly from Europe. Deputy General Manager Sana Arshad expressed enthusiasm about the global reception. “We’ve received tremendous interest from European clients. This platform allows us to present Pakistan’s fashion to the world, and we’re excited to showcase our creativity,” she noted.
A delegation of Pakistani buyers, led by Osama, CEO of a family-owned trading company, also explored advancements in functional fabrics at the expo. With years of experience importing Chinese textiles and machinery, Osama noted Pakistan’s keen interest in sustainability and innovation.
“The textile industry is rapidly evolving toward innovation, sustainability, functionality, and customization,” Osama said. “China’s advancements in functional fabrics are remarkable, and we aim to bring these innovations to Pakistan to drive the transformation of our textile industry toward green and low-carbon practices.”
The exhibition brought together over 3,100 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions, with overseas delegations from more than ten countries, including Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and France.
