Shanghai Huaming Power Company jointly arranged Seminar on Tap Changer

LAHORE, Jan.12, (Gwadar Pro)-The Shanghai Huaming Power Equipment Company, in collaboration with 7AAYS Corporation, organized a seminar on “Tap Changer” at a local hotel in Lahore on Thursday.

The Tap Changers are key components in the transmission line. A tap changer serves to adjust the output voltage of a transformer by modifying the number of turns in one winding, thus altering the turn ratio. There are two main types: the on-load tap changer (OLTC) and the de-energized tap changer (DETC). All the transformers are not equipped with tap changers.  

 The Managing Director National Transmission & Despatch Company Limited (NTDC), Engr. Dr. Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan was Chief Guest on the occasion. 

John Lu of Shanghai Huaming gave a presentation showing the company's characteristics and global presence.

While sharing his views on the occasion, MD NTDC said that such types of seminars on technical equipment are vital for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and awareness of the engineers. He further added that today's topic has a very important role in the power system. He acknowledged the efforts of the Chinese Company in arranging the seminar for NTDC engineers.

MD NTDC said that these Tap Changers can be used in the NTDC system soon after fulfilling the necessary prerequisites. He also directed the General Manager (TSG) of NTDC to coordinate with the Chinese company to exchange training materials, which will be beneficial in training of power sector employees.

CEO (7AAYS Corporation), Abdul Rauf presented a shield to the Managing Directors NTDC. DMDs, GMs, CEs, senior officers from NTDC, LESCO and members of IEEEP attended the seminar.
