ISLAMABAD, August 12 (Gwadar Pro) - China-Pakistan agricultural and food industry cooperation holds immense potential, as both nations possess unique resources and advantages in these fields.

This was stated by Chairman Sichuan Puji, Chen Changwei, whose company is looking out for collaboration partners in Pakistan. The company is already involved in red chilli farming in Multan.

Chen is in Pakistan for the FoodAg 2023, the first ever international food and agricultural exhibition being held in Karachi from August 10 to 12.

In a communication with Gwadar Pro on August 11, Chen said that China’s food and beverage industry holds a significant global position. On the other hand, Pakistan boasts abundant agricultural resources and potential expertise. “We can exchange knowledge in agricultural production, technological innovation, and market expansion to achieve complementary advantages,” he said.

“We are working on a range of solutions from seed to table and Pakistan will be an important part of our supply chain," Chen said.

“Enterprises like our existing joint venture partner, Guard, play a crucial role in cooperation. However, the direction of China-Pakistan agricultural and food industry cooperation is diverse, and the market is vast,” he added.

Therefore, they look forward to more well-known companies, universities and agricultural and food related institutions to join their cooperative efforts and participate in the development of China-Pakistan agriculture and food industry, he said.
