Chinese Spring Festival 2023 celebrated in Lahore

LAHORE, Jan 16, (Gwadar Pro)-A grand ceremony was held at the Defence Raya Golf and Country Club in Lahore to celebrate the Chinese Spring Festival 2023. Lahore Overseas Chinese Association (LOCA) hosted the ceremony.  

Chinese Consul General Lahore, Mr.Zhao Shiren, President of LOCA, Mr. Luo Jianxue, President of Institute of International Relations & Media Research (IIRMR), Mr. Yasir Habib Khan, founder of Understanding China Forum (UCF) , Mr. Zafar Mehmood, Senior journalist Maujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Chinese diplomats, and dignitaries from the Chinese and Pakistani communities took part in the event with festive enthusiasm.

On the occasion, Mr.Zhao Shiren stated that the Chinese New Year 2023 or Spring Festival (Chun Jie) celebrations in Lahore created a friendly environment in which Chinese and Pakistanis flocked, met, communicated, and exchanged pleasantries.
He stated that the year 2023 is critical to the development of the two countries as well as the two nations, he is prepared to maintain close communication with all sectors in Lahore and Punjab, and to chart a course for the sustained, sound, and steady development of China-Pakistan relations. 
Mr. Luo Jianxue, President of LOCA, extended Spring Festival greetings to all Chinese people and citizens of Lahore, saying that the Spring Festival is auspicious for everyone. He wished Chinese people in Pakistan a more healthy and happy New Year, and expressed his hope that Pak-China relations would grow in prosperity and strength. 

He also organized a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding between LOCA and local news media to launch a Chinese online newspaper.
