Tesla, the world's technology and car manufacture giant, led by billionaire Elon Musk, has opened its electric-car showroom in the city of Urumqi on New Year's eve. This was announced on the company's Chinese social media site Weibo. This opening of the US Company came after recently Biden administration fearing Chinese development and global progressive engagement passed a controversial Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. This Act is meant to put importation limits on goods produced by companies in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.

The opening of the Tesla branch in the region reflects that the US companies will continue looking for a business-friendly environment in China. There can't be a limitation placed on global economic activities. The West should not look the other way when there are development and progress happening in Xinjiang. The presence of Tesla reflects the conducive economic, trade, and business environment that the region is offering hence attracting global investment.
