ISLAMABAD, Dec. 31 (Gwadar Pro) - Shakeel Ahmad Ramay, a Pakistani author working on China for more than a decade, breaks the myths about China and is creating awareness about the country and its system in his recent publication, ‘Understanding China for Future Cooperation’.

He presented his book to the Ambassador of China today and discussed Industrial and agricultural cooperation between both the countries. Talking to Gwadar Pro on the occassion, Mr Ramay introduced his book saying that although China is doing a lot but there is little understanding about the systems of China among countries and masses.

The lack of understanding about China leads to criticism and undue controversies and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is no exception.

He said, “when I meet people even from very high rank policy makers not only from Pakistan but from around the world, from Europe and from Asian countries, I feel like most of them do not understand the Chinese system, the governance of China and the Chinese diplomacy and its objectives”.

“This is an effort to create an awareness about China, to make people aware of different systems of China and how China is keeping all these systems for moving towards prosperity of the people,” he briefly explained.

“So, I thought to write a book on all these elements of China including prosperity, eco-civilization, diplomacy and security vision and how changing dynamics are looking in China, how China is rising in these changing dynamics... I tried to figure out these things. I tried to decode different aspects and myths about China,” Ramay further added.

The book consists of two parts. Part-1 discuses about areas including Diplomacy Through Shared Prosperity, Eco-civilization: Chinese Version of Prosperity, Governance and Development System of China, CPEC, Changing Global Order and China and Security Vision of China.

Part-II consists of opinion pieces, which were written to highlight the importance of CPEC and related propaganda.

When asked about Pak-China relations particularly CPEC project, Mr. Ramay commented that China has helped Pakistan in a number of sectors.

“The most important thing about Pak-China relation is that China never wanted to create dependency, rather China always worked to build Pakistan’s capacity to make it stronger.”

The book was launched by Chairman CPEC authority Asim Saleem Bajwa who appreciated the effort of Shakeel Ramay, saying that this is a very timely effort in understanding prospects of shared prosperity.

Mr Ramay also presented his book to ambassador of Kuwait H.E.Nasser, Director General (China) Foreign office of Pakistan Mudassir Tipu and president Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and chairman Islamabad Stock Exchange REIT Zahid Latif Khan. His next plan is to launch the book at University of Punjab Lahore.

Shakeel Ahmad Ramay, who is also Director of China Study Center and Advisor Asian Institute of Eco-civilization Research and Development, is a political economist with strong background in policy research, economic forecasting, global diplomacy and changing dynamics of global governance.

He has deep understanding of climate change, environmental problems, mitigation, China’s Belt& road Imitative (BRI), CPEC, Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
